Stuff and Such

Picture it,

An eagle trying to fly,

Clutching an HD TV in its talons.

Uh…no!

How about

Jumping into a hot air balloon,

Excited to reach new heights,

But asking the pilot

If you can bring your car?

Let’s face it,

Even a Smart Car

Will weigh you down.

It sounds funny at best,

Even ludicrous.

But in reality,

I know I do it every day.

Oh,

Stuff is OK,

If, as the cliche goes,

I own it

And not the other way round.

So,

Today

May my focus be on

Letting go

Of what really doesn’t matter

In order to accomplish

All that does.

Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal (Matthew 6:19-20, ESV).
