Patchwork Fields

I grew up in the midst of farmland.

I never really got it.

All I knew was that,

No matter which way the wind blew,

During spreading season,

The air was not so sweet.

As an adult,

I’ve gained a different perspective.

Cliche? Maybe.

But the bumper sticker that reads,

“If you ate today, thank a farmer”

Says a lot.

From my perspective in the skies,

I see the beauty below,

The Patchwork Fields.

Such a tribute

To the Creator

And to the men and women

Who, despite modern conveniences,

Still work harder than most of us imagine.

Thank you, one and all,

For the example you set

The needs you supply.

And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19, ESV).

  1. These musings bless me. I just set up a subscription through WordPress, but you might want to offer a subscription option in your sidebar.

Way to go, posting so regularly! That takes commitment.
