My Highest Priority

And the cliche of the day is…

Time flies!

It may be a common phrase,

But that’s because it’s true.

The all-knowing They say

Time goes faster as I age.

I don’t think that’s the case.

It’s simply the older I get

The more I realize

There is much left I want to accomplish,

Perhaps more than I have time for.

No matter

How old or how young I am,

I must choose my priorities.

Time will indeed fly.

That’s inevitable.

But if I am to soar,

I must consider

What is most important.

What is the one thing

I want people to remember

When they think of me?

When all is said and done,

My highest priority

Is that I will

Point people to Jesus.

If they forget me,

That’s fine.

If they forget Him,

That’s devastating!

May I do whatever I do

With My Highest Priority

Always in mind.

Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is (Ephesians 5:15-17, ESV).
