Choose to Fly

There have been times

I would rather

Curl up in a corner

Than dive off the cliff

Into my day.

Today was one of those days.

With all that’s going on

In the lives of family members

And friends,

I feel as if my mind and heart

Are in a vice.

I am having trouble

Sorting it all out.

Ignorance is bliss.

So the saying goes.

It’s true.

Being unaware of the pain

And challenges

That others face

Will only guarantee one thing.

I will never accomplish

The good works prepared for me.

And that is unacceptable.

My vision is seriously limited.

But I will choose to fly

And I will seek to bless

Each one I encounter.

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them (Ephesians 2:10, ESV).
