Wings Unfurled

I choose to rejoice,

And I soar.

I become anxious,

And the net entangles.

I turn a blind eye to others,

And only imagine I’m flying.

I grow lethargic

And fold my wings.

I let my imagination take flight,

But stay grounded.

I ride the currents,

And sometimes

Go the wrong way.

I focus on the storm

And cower.

I study the rocks below

And miss the open skies.

I consider the What Ifs

And miss today’s possibilities.

Time to unfurl my wings

And leave the excuses behind.

Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds (Hebrews 10:23-24, NIV).

Today’s post was inspired by my friend Janet. Though my thoughts and feelings are always changing, she reminded me of the One who does not change. I invite you to check out her blog: http://janetsketchley.wordpress.com/2011/03/02/intentional-worship/
